Not everyone knows that the caper is a climbing shrub plant and that we consume the caper as the unopened flower bud.
Typically found in Mediterranean areas, the caper has several properties: it is very rich in flavonoids and beta-carotene which have an important antioxidant action, it is useful in regulating blood cholesterol levels, it has an anti-inflammatory action and protects joints by stimulating cartilage-generating cells, and it is also useful for those suffering from varicose veins as it promotes microcirculation.
For women, it is highly recommended to use, because among other benefits it is also diuretic and therefore very useful for those who have problems with water retention due to the annoying cellulite.
We sell both capers in brine and preserved in salt. Those in brine are typically a product of Puglia. I chose to try the Capers preserved in salt first, which I usually buy to prepare mainly fish-based recipes.
I would like to give a recommendation to those who are reading this… NEVER use capers from the first stages of preparing dishes, as capers should be consumed raw, that is, they are only used in the last stages of cooking, because if cooked too much, they become tasteless and bitter.
I also recommend adding them to the other ingredients after rinsing them very well from the excess salt and drying them gently, perhaps with a paper towel.
I recommend Oro del Salento’s Capers preserved in salt for the preparation of pasta, salads, sauces, eggs, pizza, poultry, sandwiches and/or appetizers.
The reviews indicate satisfied customers with the quality and taste of these capers and we invite you to choose them, sure that you will not regret it!
